Lansing, MI - The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), Air Quality Division has approved the air permit for Riverview Energy Systems, LLC located in Riverview, Michigan.
Riverview requested an air permit to install and operate a biomethane or renewable natural gas, recovery and pipeline quality renewable natural gas (RNG) plant. A public comment period was held from May 11 until June 27, 2022, which included a virtual informational session and public hearing.
After a review of all comments received, the air permit was issued without additional changes. More details on this permit and AQD’s review, such as the Response to Comments and the final permit conditions, can be found on the Public Notice – Final Decision webpage. The AQD does not have the regulatory authority to make every change to the permit suggested during the public comment period. In many cases, existing laws, rules, and regulations do not allow for such changes.
