Flags In MI Raised To Full-Staff Monday, Dec 4, 2023

Michigan Government NewsLansing, MI - Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer has ordered U.S. and Michigan flags within the State Capitol Complex and upon all public buildings and grounds across the state of Michigan to be raised to full-staff immediately on Monday, December 4, following the interment of former First Lady Rosalynn Carter.

The flags have been lowered to half-staff since Saturday, November 25 to honor and remember former First Lady Rosalynn Carter who passed away on Sunday, November 19. 

“First Lady Rosalynn Carter was an inspiring woman who touched many lives,” said Governor Whitmer. “Her work as an advocate on mental health and housing and leadership as First Lady set an example for us all to follow. Our thoughts are with her family, friends, supporters, and staff.”  

The State of Michigan remembers former First Lady Rosalynn Carter and the work she has done for all Americans. Michigan residents, businesses, schools, local governments, and other organizations should raise flags to full-staff. 

Flags should be returned to full-staff immediately on Monday, December 4, 2023.
