NB I-75 In Oakland County Closes Today 6/14/2022

Hazel Park, MI - Beginning today, Tuesday, June 14, the application of high-friction surface treatment will require closing lanes on northbound I-75 from south of M-102 (Eight Mile Road) to I-696. Weather permitting, two lanes will be closed between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on weekdays, and from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.

High-friction surface treatment is an epoxy-based product designed to improve traction for vehicles around the I-75 curve at Nine Mile Road. In addition, crews will install permanent recessed pavement markings on the northbound lanes. Application on the southbound lanes is expected to occur after the Independence Day weekend.

During work on the northbound lanes, northbound I-75 exit ramps to 8 Mile Road and I-696 will be maintained. When crews are working in the right lanes, the other entrance and exit ramps will be closed.
