Macomb County Offers Medicare Enrollment Assistance

Mt. Clemens, MI - Due to high demand, the Macomb County Office of Senior Services is bringing back its Medicare enrollment assistance program for individuals turning 65.

The support, provided in partnership with MMAP (Medicare Medicaid Assistance Program), will include a series of presentations from trained, unbiased experts who will share their knowledge and offer tools to ease the transition to Medicare.

“Our Office of Senior Services is committed to ensuring that every eligible individual in our County has access to the health care coverage they need," said Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel. "As such, our goal is to make the enrollment process as easy and stress-free as possible, and we encourage anyone who is turning 65 to take advantage of this valuable service."

Individuals can begin the Medicare enrollment process in the three months before a 65th birthday, or in the three months after.

“Because of demand, we are offering new dates for this program,” said Sheila Coté, director, Macomb County Office of Senior Services. “This is a great resource for individuals who are enrolling in Medicare for the first time. Our team can provide unbiased guidance for this very complicated enrollment process.”

Several webinars for individuals approaching and within the enrollment window are available:
