Detroit Man Charged In Assault Of A Mother And Daughter

Detroit, MI - Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Torrion Hudson, 22, of Detroit, in connection with the domestic assault of his 22-year-old victim, and her 42-year-old mother, also of Detroit. The defendant and the 22-year-old victim have a child in common.

On January 28, 2023, at approximately 6:00 p.m., at an apartment complex in the 10430 block of Whittier, in Detroit, it is alleged that a verbal argument between Defendant Hudson and the 22-year-old victim escalated, and the defendant punched the victim, knocking her to the ground. It is also alleged that when the mother of the woman attempted to intervene, Defendant Hudson punched her several times in the face and body. It is further alleged that the defendant began punching the 22-year-old victim again before pouring multiple cleaning products on her face and body. Medics were called to the location and transported the 22-year-old victim to a local hospital for treatment.

Torrion Hudson has been charged with one count of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm, one count of Unlawful Possession or Use of Harmful Devices Causing injury, one count of Domestic Violence and one count of Assault and Battery. *

"Sadly, one does not have to be clairvoyant to know that we would see Mr. Hudson again. Even more tragic is the fact is that two more women had to suffer from his alleged behavior. He is right where he should be in this moment - remanded to jail," said Prosecutor Worthy.

Defendant Hudson was arraigned this morning in 36th District Court before Magistrate Malaika Ramsey-Heath. He was remanded to jail for committing a violent felony while out on bond on another violent felony. His Probable Cause Conference is on February 10, 2023, and his Preliminary Examination is tentatively scheduled for February 16, 2023, before Judge Kenneth King. He is to have no contact with the complainants. Please request a photograph of the defendant from the Detroit Police Department.

*The charges are allegations and defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
