I-94 In Detroit Has Reopened Ahead Of Schedule

Detroit, MI - Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) contract crews have reopened both directions of I-94 in Detroit ahead of schedule.

Fast facts:

- Work on the Second Avenue and Grand River Avenue bridges required closing a portion of I-94 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20.
    - Both directions of I-94 have reopened between I-75 and I-96 in Detroit.
    - Ramps at the I-94/I-96 interchange are open.

The I-94 freeway is open between I-96 and I-75 after crews completed the final round of hangar adjustments on the new Second Avenue bridge over the freeway.

In addition, crews were able to reopen the westbound I-94 exit to I-96, as well as the eastbound and westbound I-96 ramps to eastbound I-94. Those ramps were closed due to ongoing work on the Grand River Avenue overpass.
