Maple Road To Close Under I-75 This weekend In Oakland County

Lansing, MI - Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) contracting crews will be closing both directions of Maple Road under I-75 for bridge demolition starting at 9 a.m. Friday, April 3. The closure is needed for demolishing the southbound I-75 freeway bridge over Maple Road.

Fast facts:

  • Starting Friday morning, crews will be demolishing the southbound I-75 bridge over Maple Road.
  • Maple Road will reopen to traffic by 5 p.m. Sunday, April 5.

Currently, both directions of I-75 have two lanes open with all traffic using the northbound side of the freeway, separated by a temporary concrete barrier. This configuration will allow for the southbound lanes and bridges to be reconstructed this year. This weekend's closure of Maple Road will not impact traffic on I-75. Both directions of Maple Road will reopen by 5 p.m. Sunday, April 5. Upon reopening, the right lane of westbound Maple Road will remain closed.

The posted detour for eastbound Maple Road includes Stephenson Highway, Big Beaver and John R. roads. The westbound Maple Road detour includes John R., Big Beaver and Rochester roads.
