Local Charities Awarded Grants From Metro West Chapter Of Credit Unions

Livonia, MI - The Metro West Chapter of Credit Unions recently announced grants totaling $17,000 awarded to 14 Wayne and Washtenaw County area non-profits.

Funds are raised through the Chapter’s annual golf outing and other activities by credit unions in the Metro West area.

This year’s top three award recipients, receiving $2,500 each, are Deo Gratias Ministries Detroit, Mi Work Matters and St. John’s Episcopal Church Food Pantry. Other recipients include Detroit Cristo Rey High School, Keep it Moving, Inc., Samaritas, The Salvation Army Plymouth, Habitat for Humanity Western Wayne County, The Arc of Northwest Wayne County, The Arc Dearborn, Bailey Park Project, Living Arts, Operation Refuge and Youth Are Bigger Than Life.

As a chapter of the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL), the mission of the Metro West Chapter is to support the educational needs, community improvement, and political advocacy of credit unions in the communities it serves. The Chapter will begin accepting grant proposals for next year in May 2021.
