Guilty Plea Entered In Wayne County On Homicide Of Nurse

Metro Detroit Crime & Law NewsDetroit, MI - In May 2023, Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Jamere Mykel Miller, 36, of Inkster, in connection with the homicide of Patrice Wilson, 29, of Redford. Ms. Wilson was working as a nurse at Detroit Receiving Hospital.

Patrice Wilson was the girlfriend of Miller and was reported to be ending their relationship at the time of her death.

On May 13, 2023, at approximately 7:53 a.m., at Detroit Receiving Hospital, located in the 4200 block of St. Antoine Street, it is alleged that Miller disguised with a wig, a hat, and glasses, waited until Ms. Wilson got into her car after work. He went to the back passenger side of her car and fired a handgun multiple times, fatally wounding her. Miller then got into the driver's seat and fled from the scene.

The investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to evidence in Inkster, Garden City and Novi. On May 13, 2023, at 2:19 p.m. DPD was advised that Ms. Wilson's car was found at a location in Novi, MI. DPD found her lifeless body in the rear of the car. Miller turned himself in to Detroit police officers on May 14, 2023.

On Tuesday, October 10, 2023, Jamere Mykel Miller pled guilty to one count of Second-Degree Murder with a sentence agreement of 35 to 60 years in the Michigan Department of Corrections. He will be sentenced on November 1, 2023, before Judge Kevin Cox. On the date of sentencing, the First-Degree Murder and Felony Murder counts will be dismissed along with, one count of Carjacking, one count of Armed Robbery, one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and five counts of Felony Firearm.
