New Mobile Health Unit In Macomb County Hits The Road

Clinton Twp., MI - Macomb County Community Mental Health (MCCMH) has opened its first mobile health unit and is now getting out on the road to provide services and to share important information.

For instance, August is Overdose Awareness Month. MCCMH’s Office of Substance Abuse will therefore use the mobile health unit to provide naloxone that can help residents take action in preventing overdose deaths.

Naloxone is a medication designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdose. Every Friday in August, naloxone will be available at no cost for Macomb County residents at various sites around the county. The events will be from 10 a.m. -2 p.m., including:

  • August 6 at CARE Recovery United Center, 32577 Garfield Road, Fraser, MI 48026
  • August 13 at Live Rite Recovery Center, 27700 Gratiot Ave., Roseville, MI 48066
  • August 20 at Macomb County Probation Office, 32 Market Street, Mount Clemens, MI 48043
  • August 27 at Macomb County Health Department, Southwest Health Center, 27690 Van Dyke, Warren, MI 48093 

There will also be an official ribbon cutting ceremony for the mobile health unit, prior to the first event on August 6 at 9:30 a.m.

Anyone that is struggling personally with substance use and feels as though they need help can contact Macomb County Community Mental Health, who will conduct a telephonic screen to help individuals connect with treatment services. Individuals can either call the customer service line at 855-99-MCCMH, or contact the Crisis Line 24 hours per day at 586-307-9100.
