Clinton Twp., MI - MSU Extension, in partnership with the Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority (HCMA) and Michigan Sea Grant, is thrilled to announce the popular Summer Discovery Cruises program has returned for 2023.
These cruises are an educational on-boat experience that connects participants to the Great Lakes and professionals that work to conserve them. Passengers will enjoy a two-hour cruise along Lake St. Clair while learning about lighthouses, birds, fisheries, ongoing scientific research and more. Cruises will feature many engaging topics, including:
- Great Lakes science
- Fisheries of Lake St. Clair
- Birds of the Great Lakes with Detroit Audubon
- Great Lakes Author Cruise with Dr. John Hartig
- Past, present and future of the lighthouses of Lake St. Clair with Save Our South Channel Lights
Cruises will depart from and return to the Lake St. Clair Metropark marina on August 4-9, 2023, with daily departures at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person and available online through the Huron-Clinton Metroparks website. Tickets may also be purchased via phone by calling the Metropark's Nature Center at 586-463-4332, or in person at the park if tickets remain. Seating is limited and early registration is recommended.
