6 Mile Rd Bridge Over I-275 In Wayne Co To Close For One Month

Livonia, MI - As part of the I-275 reconstruction project, the 6 Mile Road bridge over I-275 will close for approximately one month for epoxy overlay, barrier wall repair and work on the approaches.

Beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, July 24, the 6 Mile Road bridge will be closed between the entrance and exit ramps with I-275.

Detours:

I-275:

  • Northbound I-275 traffic will be able to exit to eastbound 6 Mile Road but access to westbound 6 Mile Road will be blocked. The detour for westbound 6 Mile Road is westbound 7 Mile Road to southbound Haggerty Road to westbound 6 Mile Road. An alternative is to take eastbound 6 Mile Road to northbound Newburgh Road, then westbound 7 Mile Road to southbound I-275 to reach westbound 6 Mile Road.
  • Southbound I-275 traffic will be able to exit to westbound 6 Mile Road but access to eastbound 6 Mile Road will be blocked. The detour for eastbound 6 Mile Road is northbound Haggerty Road to eastbound 7 Mile Road, then southbound Newburgh Road to eastbound 6 Mile Road.

6 Mile Road:

  • Eastbound 6 Mile Road traffic will take northbound Haggerty Road to eastbound 7 Mile Road, then southbound Newburgh Road to 6 Mile Road.
  • Westbound 6 Mile Road traffic will take northbound Newburgh Road to westbound 7 Mile Road, then either southbound I-275 to westbound 6 Mile Road or southbound Haggerty Road to 6 Mile Road.
