Grand River Work Between 8 Mile And Berg Begins Thu 4/18/2024

Metro Detroit Traffic NewsDetroit, MI - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin work this week on M-5 (Grand River Avenue) between M-102 (8 Mile Road) and Berg Road, east of US-24 (Telegraph Road).

This $5.8 million investment includes milling, joint repairs and asphalt paving, and is expected to be completed by late fall.

Beginning 8 a.m. Thursday, April 18, the two left lanes will be closed in each direction on M-5 (Grand River Avenue) between M-102 (8 Mile Road) and Berg Road for median work. While there will be two lanes open during most of the work, there will be occasional periods of up to three lanes closed during paving operations. This stage of work should be completed by June and will then shift into the two right lanes, which will be closed until late fall.
