I-75 Closed At Luna Pier Rd In Monroe County Dec 1-4, 2023

Metro Detroit Traffic NewsLansing, MI - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close I-75 at Luna Pier Road for bridge demolition.

Additionally,  Luna Pier Road will remain closed over I-75 for rebuilding until July 1, 2024.

MDOT is investing approximately $126 million to rebuild more than 4 miles of I-75 between Erie Road and Otter Creek in Monroe County, including rebuilding five bridges along with the ramps at Otter Creek and Luna Pier Roads. Most work for this project will be performed in 2023-2024, with preparations taking place this year. 

Funding for this project is made possible by Rebuilding Michigan program to rebuild the state highways and bridges that are critical to the state's economy and carry the most traffic. The investment strategy is aimed at fixes that result in longer useful lives and improves the condition of the state's infrastructure.

Traffic restrictions:
This work will require closing the I-75 at Luna Pier Road for demolition. Traffic will be detoured via the Luna Pier Road exit/entrance ramps.

Luna Pier Road will be closed at I-75 from Dec. 1 until July 1, 2024, for construction. Traffic will be detoured via I-75, Otter Creek Road, and Erie Road.

Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.
