Livonia, MI - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) invites the public to attend an open house regarding a new project planned for Old M-14 (Ann Arbor Road) in the city of Livonia.
There will be information related to the proposed work, including schedule and traffic impacts. This project is separate from the three-year project that recently began on M-14 between Sheldon and Newburgh roads.
Exhibits will be displayed for Section 106 and Section 4(f) impacts on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP)-eligible Hines Drive bridge. Additional exhibits will focus on Section 4(f) de minimis impacts for permanent easement right of way for riprap at the Middle Rouge bridge and temporary closure of the recreational resource parking lot on Old M-14 (Ann Arbor Road). Another exhibit will show potential Section 4(f) Historic de minimis impacts on Edward N. Hines Park, whose NRHP eligibility is being reviewed.

Project Details:
This project includes bridge and road work on Old M-14 (Ann Arbor Road) from west of Newburgh Road to east of Market Street, near Plymouth Road. Also included are the addition of right-turn lanes on Newburgh Road, the replacement of the Old M-14 (Ann Arbor Road) bridge over the Middle Rouge River and the Hines Drive bridge over Old M-14 (Ann Arbor Road), a new sidewalk along the west side of Old M-14 (Ann Arbor Road) from Newburgh Road to Plymouth Road, and a paved pathway connecting the Old M-14 (Ann Arbor Road) sidewalk and Hines Drive pathway.

Public comment:
Public input is being sought to help recognize and address any concerns that may result from any impacts at the Middle Rouge Bridge per a proposed de minimis impact finding under Section 4(f) of U.S. Department of Transportation Act of 1966.
Public input is also being sought to help recognize and address any concerns regarding the Section 4(f) Historic de minimis impacts on Edward N. Hines Park, whose NRHP eligibility is being reviewed.
