Michigan Ave Project Resumes In Dearborn Monday, April 10, 2023

Dearborn, MI - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will resume milling and resurfacing work on US-12 (Michigan Avenue) between Oakwood Boulevard and Greenfield Road.

Beginning 9 a.m., Monday, April 10, eastbound and westbound US-12 (Michigan Avenue) between Oakwood Boulevard and Greenfield Road will have the two left lanes closed, leaving two lanes open.  During nights and weekends, work may require additional lane closures, leaving only one lane open. This stage will go through early summer when lane closures will switch to the two right lanes being closed.

Also, at 9 a.m. Monday, April 10, ramp closures will begin at the US-12 and M-39 interchange through early summer when the ramp closures will switch.

  • Westbound US-12 ramp to northbound M-39 will be closed.
    Detour: westbound US-12 traffic will continue west of M-39 to the crossover and then use eastbound US-12 to M-39
  • Northbound M-39 ramp to westbound US-12 will be closed.
    Detour: northbound M-39 traffic will continue to westbound M-153 (Ford Road) and then to southbound M-39 to westbound US-12

Additionally, the westbound US-12 (Michigan Avenue) service drive, west of Greenfield Road, will have one lane open through early summer.

Project information:

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing 17.9 million to mill and resurface US-12 (Michigan Avenue) between Oakwood Boulevard and Greenfield Road over a two-year period. The work includes curb and gutter, guardrail, and drainage improvements along with traffic signal modernization, sidewalk upgrades, and sign upgrades.

Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 227 jobs.
