Clinton Twp., MI - Macomb County MSU Extension has announced the launch of a new “Dining with Diabetes” series, a fun and interactive program for people with prediabetes, type 1 or type 2 diabetes, members of their support system and anyone interested in learning more about healthy eating and diabetes prevention.
Participants in the program will learn to make healthier food choices and incorporate balanced menus into their dining experience. Classes will feature research-based education and cooking demonstrations from recipes provided in a take-home participant book.
“MSU Extension is committed to enhancing diabetes self-management across Michigan and we are offering additional Dining with Diabetes programs to Macomb County residents and southeast Michigan communities through our current statewide partnership with the Lions Club International of Michigan,” said Lauryn Lin, an extension health educator for MSUE. “We create a supportive environment and empower people to make healthy eating and lifestyle changes to prevent diabetes complications.”
The series will be held on Tuesdays, beginning March 3 through March 24 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in Assembly Room A at the Macomb County MSU Extension office, 21885 Dunham Road (Entrance E), Clinton Township 48036.
